My latest build - F6F-3 Hellcat

Post by Thumboy »

This is only my 6th ever kit and 4th with an airbrush. I enjoyed making this kit it went together very nicely. had a bit of a disaster when I spilt the dark blue all over it which pretty much meant a full re-spray and I lost all my pre-shading. but it came out ok in the end.
Painted with Tamiya paint and weathered with oils, pastels and Tamiya weathering master.
because I am new to the hobby I try to do something new on each model. on this one I made my own seatbelts from Tamiya tape and fuse wire (a bit out of scale but I think it adds to the kit)

Spilt paint or not, still looks really good. I especially love the face on the nose, really gives the aircraft character. :D

Hi, thanks for the nice comments. It the first time I have shown my work and its a bit nerve racking.

The kit is Academy's 1/72. It's a nice kit with some good detail.
