Fun little diorama you have going there. Have fun in the snow, if you choose to do so.

DAY ONE:
Well have made a start on the Sherman and surprisingly the fit is excellent, its practically throwing itself together. Have started on the bottom (OOH ERRR) with the main body and wheels. I do seem to have grown a wheel tree but will have to prune it later.....
IMGP1167.JPG
.
Glued the main body together and started with a bit of weathering....
IMGP1160.JPG
Then surprise surprise it started to snow....
IMGP1177.JPG
The weathering is 3 parts Humbrol Weathering powder Dark earth, 2 parts powder Sand and 3 parts snow. I must admit I ignored the advice on the Humbrol You Tube channel and used white glue to stick it on as I have found in the past it works really well. Dab on the glue then just dab or sprinkle the mixture on and its done. Just like being back at primary school with Glue and Glitter. As you can see have pruned the wheel tree and completed the wheel sub-assembly. Weathered with the same mixture but have just touched on a few splodges of Modelmates Rust effect and little silver dry brushing.
As you can probably gather day off form work for me today.
See you mad modellers on day two.

I'm sure you could add another model or two into the mix. lol Good luck mate. Looks like a lot of work ahead of you. Maybe I'm just a coward as I'm doing a tank and that's it.
Looking forward to seeing the progress.

DAY TWO: Pt 1.
OK day two started with a bit of priming the smaller parts while on the sprue and the top body of the Sherman. Also some preshading with the old reliable Iwata Neo Airbrush. Used Tamiya flat white XF-2 (Thinned to a 50 / 50 mix) and Tamiya Flat Black XF-1 thinned to the same ratio for some of the priming and the preshading.
IMGP1188.JPG
Then decided to assemble the cool little half bridge base that comes with the kit. A real bonus in my humble opinion for a kit that only costs £5.99.
IMGP1195.JPG
A lovely little extra and as with everything else with this kit it went together really easily and looks really good.
Next it was time to glue on the wheels and the bit I was dreading having never built a tank before, putting on the tracks.
IMGP1200.JPG
As expected the wheels went on fine and I even managed to get them facing the right way first time and the bigger wheels in the right places. Slight dusting with more snow and things were going good.........

DAY TWO: Pt 2:
Well ladies and gents the tracks.........
Surprisingly went on first time, didn't pull any of the wheels off and seated perfectly.
IMGP1201.JPG
Most impressed with this little gem of a kit that I first thought was kinda tiny and I have tended to shy away from Revell kits as I have had some real dogs from their aircraft range, but this is awesome.......Then the blizzard hit....
IMGP1203.JPG
Snowbound in Oxford in June...(Must be an apocalypse. Wheres that damn Will Smith when you need him).
Snow accessories done the same way a bit of P.V.A then sprinkle sprinkle over newspaper and tip the excess back in the pot. Once dry tappity tap to shake off any loose and a very light coat of Humbrol Clear sprayed very carefully and gently at about 10psi to seal it all on.
The preferred "Weapons of weathering" this time around.......
IMGP1169.JPG
Day three beckons like a Crossroads Demon in a see through negelegegee ( I know I don't know how to spell it....but do you???)
Time to get in the Impala and RIDE !!!!!!

From This:
IMGP1220.JPG

IMGP1221.JPG

DAY THREE: Pt 2:
Out with the ever popular Micro Sol and Micro Set, Tweezers, hot water and q-tips. Not many decals on this one but very nice ones they are and they go on a treat. Place on traditional decalling music (Quadraphenia by The Who)and were off.
Slippy Slidey, slippy slidey and were done.
IMGP1224.JPG
IMGP1225.JPG
IMGP1226.JPG
Another quick coat of Mr Clear and another round of weathering is on the cards. AM gonna use a bit of Modelmates Rust and some Floreys Black and the Brown Washes and a little silver drybrushing here and there. Then of coarse its gonna be sprinkle sprinkle snowy snowy time......
Day 4 will be on us like having a crap by using the force..........very quickly.

DAY FOUR: Pt 1:
Well sufficiently cleared out I started day four. Weathering went ahead as planned and as expected everything came together pretty well.
IMGP1232.JPG
The Floreys wash worked a treat, a mixture of Mud and Black and then a few dabs of the Modelmates Rust here and there. The it was time to put things all together. Shame I had to cut my little man's legs off but might find a use for them later!!!
IMGP1251.JPG
Then it was time to turn my attention to the little base. some mixed gravel first I think and a rough paint job, Tamiya Rust for the brickwork and some Tamiya Dark Earth for the rocks mixed in with a bit of Tamiya Buff.

DAY FOUR: Pt 2:
Mixed gravel and foliage is from Hornby rail sets and applied with a liberal dollop of PVA and a lot of finger crossing. Also brickwork was washed with Floreys Concrete wash and snow, snow, snow...
IMGP1247.JPG
Bit more snow on the Sherman and there they are combined..
IMGP1245.JPG
IMGP1256.JPG
All in all a fantastic little kit, a lot bigger than I thought in 1/76 scale with a fantastic little base with it. The fit is excellent no filler used at all, no flash and minimal sanding needed. The tracks go on great once the rubber join is slotted in, didn't even need to glue it.
Humbrol weathering powders worked a treat and the secret ingredient Citadel Snow was brilliant, as previous said PVA dab dab then sprinkle sprinkle snowy snowy.
Gonna tackle the 1/76 Scale German Armoured Car SD.KFZ.234 from Airfix next with maybe a bit of base work in between.
Day five is just over the horizon with the sultry sound of Meat Loaf singing a Power Ballad. Sounds like "Heaven Can Wait" to me.......

DAY FIVE: Pt 1:
Well started work on the Airfix 1/76 scale German Armoured Car SD.KFZ.234.
Looks like a pretty simple quick build to go with me Sherman.
IMGP1272.JPG
IMGP1290.JPG
As you can see I have started with pretty much priming everything on the sprue and have already assembled the wheels and the turret gun as they were the most fiddly. I have also painted the turret gun and the rear plate / engine cover and have tried a small amount of the Model Mates Rust to see how things would look, as this is a bit smaller than the Sherman.
IMGP1291.JPG
I then glued the two tub halves together with the turrent gun in between. I must say this is not such an easy fit as the Sherman was, I think its an older kit, but a little sanding and trimming and we're there (Kind of)....

DAY FIVE: Pt 2:
Next comes the wheels and axles. All the axles are separate and VERY small, which is why I primed and have now painted them on the sprue's. Not my favourite way of doing things I Must admit but needs must when the devil farts in your face.
A little weathering with Humbrol Weathering powders was also added as it would be difficult to get to later. A mix of sand, earth and black was used. I did it a little different this time mixing the powders in a pot with white glue. Still ok but not as good as putting the PVA on first and then dabbing the powders on.
IMGP1294.JPG
Decided to leave the wheels off until last and get cracking on the paint job, a base of Aqua Colour Olive Green started the ball rolling, a few post shading squirts here and there, and then a few highlights, dry brushing around the gun barrel and a coat of Humbrol clear.
IMGP1296.JPG
I then got the paint brushes out and decided that the car was too dark and had a totally bonkers moment and the results were......
IMGP1297.JPG
Oh my heavens what have I done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Day Six is coming and I must remember to take my medication....................
