Global Scale Modeller

This is for a contest, so maybe i'm going to finish it .
The kit seems very good to me, although it's not perfect, this was the first mould by Meng so there are some "youth errors"...
This black plastic is a bit oily and harder than usual.
I know, the photographs are terrible, I solemnly promise to do better pictures at the sunlight and with a white background for future updates.






As you can see this is not a big update, but this part is a bit tricky, the instructions ask you to NOT glue some parts in order to have a workable steering, but the plastic don't stay together with the power of thought, so, after a bit less than one hour, I decided to glue the parts, but, at the end, the steering is still workable...
Maybe I'm lucky, I don't know...

Thank you. The contest was opened by MTK (Modern Tank Kit), it's a group of italian modeller on Facebook, nothing serious, the range is very large, everything post-WWII is suitable, it's the first contest we opened so we let a large potential choiche.

I did this photos outside, but are worse than the others , I must read a guide to photography...
It's not a big update because I'm very slow (INCREDIBLY SLOW) and a bit paranoid, probably i see mould lines that don't exist in reality . Perfect moulds don't exist... but this kit is overall good.
The building is my favorite part in modeling so it must be perfect, then i usually ruin my works when I paint them, but this is another story

Sorry for the long absence, but I went skiing last week
I finished the chassis, the kit is not perfect, but is better than others, the chassis usually is the most tricky part when building a soft-skin and usually is the part with the less precise fitting. The plastic is harder than usual and I think this is positive because it allows you some errors during the work.
The photos are shitty as usual because i use my Iphone and I'm not going to buy a reflex in the next future, too much money needed , one day, maybe...











I forgot to say that I made an hole in the silencer (Is it the right name?)

That looks great so far Giacomer, I've built one or two vehicles similar to this and I agree that most of the fit issues happen here. Especially with those older kits.
This looks pretty good so far.
I think that word that you are looking for is muffler.

as always, I'm slow.
After the primer on the chassis and on the interior parts i painted semi-gloss black the chassis and with the same black i did a pre-shading. It's not so good, I know, but I used a 20€ Fengda...
The next step will be the grey on the interior with a (small) modulation (for a small vehicle). And of course the detail painting etc. etc.
Enough for today, I'm very tired (obviously this is not the only project ongoing on my bench).

Never apologise for your great skills as a builder and a narrator.
My Italian would be laughable, except for the ability to get Ice Cream for everyone.

PS: Its a model that I have toyed with having a go at for a while so will follow your build closely.

Ok, an update without passing ages!!!
I sprayed the base colors on the interior (I didn't do a good choice with the colors, I know, is a chromatic outrage), I hope the pre-shading is visible, unfortunately I have an heavy hand with the airbrush (and a not so good airbrush). The next step will be the detail painting on the chassis and on the interior.














P.S.: How much do you dilute the Vallejo Model Color when you have to airbrush them?

I painted the details, probably I've improved my skills... Then I gave a rust wash on the exhaust and I'm pleased with the result.
Next step: Gloss clear and a pin-wash.

I finished the interior, after the gloss clear I gave a wash, then I placed the decal and after a coat of matt I assembled, then I gave a dusty look with chalks and pigments.
I painted the interior of the cab and I assembled the roll-bar and some equipment.
Now it's time of primer for the body, roll-bar, bumpers and equipment.



















The tailgate had a serious fitting problem and I was forced to putty, maybe was only a wrong assembly by me... Who know...
I'm pleased with the result on the interior, let me know your impressions!!

Giacomer, what a lovely result (by the way nasty cut on finger, hope this is not related to this model ).
These vehicles are getting so common on the news reports from Irag at moment and seeing them scooting around covered in equipment and weapons, is calling out for some brilliant creations.
Good luck on further build and I am defiently getting myself one of those bad boys.

First I want to thank you for following my work, your words are very appreciated.
Yes, that deep cut is related with this model, a new blade #11 met my finger and blood was everywhere in a second, nothing that can stop me.
I'm glad that you like my work, I wanted a worn look on the interior, I think I achieved the result.

Giacomer, I have had the same Swann & Morton Blade on for ages (Prefer Scalpel Blades and Handles as they suit my hand and modelling technique).
I daren't at present swap blades as I know full well, as soon as I do I will be in Hospital for mutiple stitches.
I think in my eyes that you have acheived a very good look for this model.
