Masking Canopies

Hello, Im looking for help with masking canopies, i usually cover it with tamiya tape, put it on my phone and start cutting, however it doesn't cut and when it does, its off the lines and it leaves massive scratches. 
Can anybody help, this b-17 of mine has lots of glass that must be painted and doing only straight lines won't get it done very well. Please help as this is urgent!
