started a new one today
Lockheed S-3A Viking, pretty old kit on my stash, its got a Beatties price tag, £3.85 reduced to £1.93 so must be at least 15 years old lol, seems OK so far, instructions are a bit brown and paints are the old Airfix codes lol, remember M6 Matt black,

Wings are just pushed in, cockpit pretty good, keeping my US carrier theme going

Viking major components assembled, needs some minor filling at wing roots

not a bad model for 20 years old lol

Masked and ready to spray
had to take off the engines to paint seperatly as they are 1/2 Grey / 1/2 white and i'd never have masked them in situe
nice model - perhaps Airfix will re-issue some time

Looking good. My last cruise in 1995 we had S-3B's on board. A side bit of trivia, they use the same basic TF-34 engine that The A-10 Warthog uses. Cheers, Doug

- it was reduced to £1.93 ....must have been bought somewhere between 1991-1995 when i worked in Birmingham
thanks - I kept looking at it on the shelf - thinking one day....
it's a great model - just remember to put some weight in it - i think i used 2 or 3 1p coins (1p=3.5g in case you're wondering)
it's in the Paint shop now - all cleaned and masked - just need some time to get out the airbrush lol

I use Humbrol Acrylics with humbrol Acrylic thinners, I used to use water but the thinners are much better and less susceptible to grease.
Thanks for the comments much appreciated
