Nice one Nige, I've made a good dent in the running gear this afternoon, it's a nice kit but it's no tamiya or dragon fit wise. but it's gonna make a nice chally.

Plus you and mike have loads of spares from me if needed as I'm not using half my kit lol :eeek:

I just spent half the afternoon on skype watching him try to glue this thing together.... It was like watching a monkey try to fly a kit.
Hahahaha... Actually he was brilliant... Thanks for the help Nigel. I would have spent an hour looking at that part and not knowing what the F was wrong with it. Good eye buddy!!!

So have two gorillas pestering me for photos so here we go.

Here we have the wheels twelve in all not the best designed if I'm honest and with a bit of flash so took some time lineing them up.
Image

And the suspension all done as Coen mentioned the return roller arms are a bit up in the air with the instructions don't tell you really which way they go but with Coen and Paul's help as well as Gav I think they are the right way round.
Image

Image

So far it been a fun build especially as I was talking to Coen on Skype last night we were at the same point and building the same bits at the same time.

But for now I think it will be maybe Monday before I get back to it so thanks for looking

I've been told by Norm that the kit return rollers are Cack!
They're supposed to be straight. No bend.
I've gone back and fixed mine now. I hacked off the bit that the wheel was on and just straightened the thing. Then glued it back on.

Well I did manage to get some work done on the chally this weekend

The back plate all sorted and fixed to the hull
Image

The PE mud flaps fitted and the upper hull glued in place after a bit of sanding for the fit.
Image
Image
Image

So next it all the bits onto the upper hull did it this way so I didn't break any of the bits but this might not get done until next weekend. I've got to do some work on the spit at some point next week.

International speed modeller....... Hahaha..... Love it!!!

Take no notice Nige.... On a plus, I see no difference between the three builds really...
All are equally as good as each other.... That rear build picture could have been from Paul or Mike's as they are all identical.... And the PE fender build pics... Excellent mate..
Keep it up, nice and steady mate..
Enjoy, Happy Modelling .... :th:

Thanks guys

So on with the build

All the little bits are on the upper haul

I decided I want to but the dozer blade on so the rest of the evening was taken up building that but in the end I think it will look great on front of the chally.

It's not the best of fit in places but it dose look cool.

Well I managed to get some more done on the chally

Got the side armour and the birdcage on as well as the tow/track change ropes on.
Image
Image

To add a bit of interest I wanted on cable longer than the other as this sometimes happens if one snaps
Image
Image
And the rear birdcage armour on the rear.

Right a question for all you armour guys how would you add rifling to the barrel would you stick in strips of plasti card before or after glueing the barrel together?

You may be better scoring the end of the barrel to imitate the rifling mate, rather than adding any material.

Hey Nige, to be honest I don't really think the rifling would show on a 1/35 barrel. Looking at this pic it's not very pronounced at full scale. Just my opinion, it's upto you mate.

Chief is absolutely right!
And I added it anyway.
i just scored it a tiny but with my hobby knife. Nothing fancy.
Before I paint the model I'll blend it a bit with Mr.Surfacer or Tamiya putty thinned with TET.
Haha.

You can't even see it at this distance.

At this distance is looks like Shit.
