SAS jeep

Post by Nige99 »

Making this for a mate! He wants to present to his dad on Father's Day!

Image
It's a really old kit 1974 with loads of flashing

The figures are bad! If it was my kit, I would get some resin bits Pe and some good resin figures

Got this one on the go as well. I've been lucky, having very little flash on my kit, but there's been seam lines on pretty much every part! :bash: Other than that, its been a good, fun build.

Agree with you about the figures not being great. Think I'll try my hand at a diorama with a sand storm and see if I can hide them behind a cloud of dust

I like your bag straps and jerrycan rack. What did you use to make those?

If it was mine I'd deffo upgrade this kit.
I used Tamiya tape for the bags. Bit fiddly to do but looks so much better that bags just glued to the side.

Half way through the painting now!
I used Tamiya XF60 dark yellow for the vehicle. The jerry cans was painted with vellejo 70988 khaki which suppose to be the same colour match.

Some of the stowage painted

Still loads to do! Mg's kit bags etc. then it's the pin washes and weathering

That looks the nutz Nige!
I love the look of all that stowage bud. That and the chipping make this look like a mini Warpig.
Stuffed full of painting exercises. haha.
Love that back yard too.

I done the old pic from the instructions. Not sure if it looks right but it gives you a little bit of history.
