Hi Guys, I've looked through the posts in this list and can't find this subject, so I'll ask you good people. Can anyone suggest where to get the 'Klear' Floor polish for coating prior to decalling etc. from, every supermarket, pound shop and general hardware shop I go into I trawl through the cleaning products section to no avail. This stuff is like rocking horse droppings.

By the way, is the 'On the Bench:' section at the bottom of most peoples posts a separate section, or is it just tagged onto the bottom of every post?

Had the same problem and ended up getting it off eBay.

Hi Ian. I think you're UK based, so look for "Pledge multi-surface wax". It used to be known as Klear. I got mine from Sainsbury's a couple of months ago for a few pounds.

I added the "On the bench" section from the "User Control Panel". Its under "Profile" -- "Edit Signature".

In sweden it's called Johnson's pledge, and can be bought at any major general store (like big food malls that sells cleaning supplies etc)

This is the current bottle in the US. I'm not sure if it's the same in the UK.

As said I got mine from Sainsbury's seems to be the only place I can find it in the UK in stores.

Yeah it's a different bottle now lee, different shape and it's got a yellow and white label now.

got a bottle from sainsburys two days ago £3.20 is now the product formally known as klear

So, when you use Klear to put the gloss finish on models, do you apply it straight from the bottle? ie, is it thin it enough from the bottle, or, do you add a thinner, like I do with Model Masters clear-cotes, and, if you do add a thinner, what is the ratio of thinner with Klear?


I'm picking a bottle up at the weekend to start trying this out and want to be sure about what I'm doing before using.

Just neat out the bottle in nice thin coats you don't want it to pool at all

At ASDA for £3.16

i went to asda n it was 3 qwids and a few pence, white bottle yellowy lable as pledge multi surface wak,only two bottles on shelf so i had em both lol

Has shown us during the week end, a YELLOW bottle with Red cap which is ... Cinnamon or some other spice
""Smelling"" clear Acrylic Floor wax... I think it is designed for Wooden floors..
but he says it sprays the same and is Klear ! and does the same for a fraction of the price!

Compared to your KLEAR in Europe which is MILKY white... due to the fact it has "Soap" in it !
and they even changed the formula again it seems... and it doesn't perform as well....

So.. maybe someone can Spot that YELLOW bottle and Red Cap for Wooden Floor
Wax... and report if it is a good Alternative to Klear with Pledge ???

Well, I meant Yellow... Yes the bottle is Yellow with a Red Cap.
is made of Acrylic Floor Wax...specially designed for Wooded floors !

Manufactured by Johnson ! but isn't called Klear or Future
and happens to be scented ! not the same as KLEAR... more like a spice !

There are lads in the UK, that have the hardest of time finding that stuff...
Even in groceries.... or hardware stores...

so..it was just to point out there are other Floor wax sold by Johnson
that could do the trick !

I'll ask CHRIS from Chris & Alex modelling for the name of it...

Hi Norm..The polish was "astonish floor polish" should be around about £1.00 per bottle...have looked and available at several stores in the UK so you should be able to find it mate.

Got mine from the local SPAR - chain of local mini supermarkets.
