In what order do you work?

I have been watching videos and have see some of the sweetest looking tanks. All chipped and weathered and full of mud and grease. What I am wondering is there a certain order in which I should work to achieve these effects?

For example : Prime, pre-shade, paint, highlight, gloss coat, decal, pin wash, streaking, chipping, edge highlighting, dark wash, mudd, etc.

You get the idea. Is there a sequence in which these are typically applied?

And what all should I apply? There are steaks and grimes and filters and so on. In fact there are so many things to apply what do you use and when?

I really love the WWII stuff if that makes a difference.

I would also like to know about the order of build (from Beginning to End), for Aircraft and AFV's (as i believe their order would be different).

As far as armor goes, I:

• build the tank leaving off the wheels, tracks, and some other parts
  primer and paint
  gloss or semigloss coat
  decal followed by another gloss or semi gloss coat
  attach the wheels, tracks, tools
  weathering
  finish off with a flat coat

For aircraft:

• build, paint, and install the cockpit
  build the aircraft leaving off the landing gear (not always possible)
  primer and paint
  gloss coat and decal
  paint and attach landing gear, bay, doors, and ordinance
  another gloss coat
  weathering and a final flat or semigloss coat

I do a panel line wash first, but no real order for the rest of the weathering for me.

That sounds like HOW I do mine... no flaws there... good logic !

Do you all work in this order?
Do you clear coat between steps ?
Does any step hurt or wash out anything already done?

Good question mate, i'm the same because there is so many difference ways. If someone could please put it on the forum it would be greatly appreciated, i know some people do it a certain way and ever one is different
