Roman Triarius

Ave folks!
I painted this figure back in 2011, it is a white metal figure from Ares Mythologic in 70mm scale.
This soldier represents a Triarius during the Second Punic War. The Triarii formed the third battle line in the Republican Roman Army and consisted of the oldest and most experienced warriors in a Legion. They were only deployed actively in battle when the battle was fierce and a defeat was possible. This led to the Latin phrase "res ad triarios rediit" (The issue went back to the triarii - this means it is a bad situation but it will go on till the bitter end)

A small base was included, i incorporated it into my own larger base.
I like the "war cry" facial expression and the whole pose a lot, very dynamic figure. It was a pleasure to assemble and paint it!

Absolutely wonderful work.
I actually only heard about your skill with figures a little while ago.
Something that I've never had the patience for sadly.
I developed a few quick tricks to make a 1/35 figure look like a person, but that's it.
Great stuff...
more?

Thank you all very much :) More will be posted soon, i do it bit by bit so to say!
I actually think a 1:35 scale figure is harder to paint than a 54mm or larger figure, i don“t know really why but i always have trouble with the 1:35 scale ones.

Great work mate, though it makes my effort with my little knight figure a bit embarrasing!
