1/48 Tamiya P51D Tail Fin

Post by ApachePrincess99 »

Has anyone attempted to remove the fin fillet on Tamiya's P51D? The version that I am building does not have it. I know that Ultracast makes a resin version. I would like to take a crack at removing it myself, then have the resin bit as a back up, just in case.

I have a pretty good idea on how I am going to do it, but input from the masses would be great. :thumb1:

Thanks,

MT

Sorry mate, I've never built a P-51. Good luck though!

Here is the progress so far. I am thinking of filling the gap with either plastic card or putty. Any suggestions? I think it will be easier to get the correct shape by using putty.

I'd fill it with card then putty on top to finish.
