Revell 1/32 Douglas Dauntless SDB-5E

First of all i would like to say a huge thanks to everyone on ISM who helped come up with this GB as it has been really enjoyable and i have met so many new people and learnt so many new things along the way.
Kit Fit 9/10
After doing a bit of research on this kit i was dreading starting it after finding out it was a matchbox that Revell had re boxed, after completely cutting up the cockpit and fitting a new one the fit was almost perfect with only a small amount of filler needed. The only tricky part was tring to get the cover behind the engines to fit but once in place they were fine.
Ease of Construction 9/10
The kit itslef went together really well with no places where i was scratching my head wondering where something goes.
Kit Detail 3/10
The kit detail on the interior was extremely poor, not only was it not correct (im not a rivet counter by the way) but the quantity of detail was minuscule. the same was with the engine it was a flat disk with some half cylinders stuck on which could have been improved., but other than that the external detail was fairly good. The only thing i changed was i drilled the holes of the dive brakes out slightly.
Decal Quality 8/10
The decal quality was extremely good for the few decals i stuck on... there was no silvering and they formed around the raised panel lines extremely well. All the decals on the decal sheets were in register and the backing film was nice and tight to the marking.
Instructions 6/10
The instructions were fairly clear there weren't many stages where i was scratching my head wondering where things go, the only part that wasn't very clear was which way round the bulkhead went but after a few minutes of looking at the diagram i worked it out
Value for Money 10/10
I purchased this kit off ebay for £10 which for a 1/32 scale is amazing so i wasn't to bothered about the lack of detail, but if i had of bought this for anymore than £15 i would have been rather disappointed.
Summary
For my first GB on ISM i thoroughly enjoyed my self and as i said before had plenty of interaction with other members. the#is kit also gave me a chance to have a good go at scratch building as i have never done loads on one kit before.
