JonseyAU's final reveal

Post by JonseyAU »

Hello everyone at ISM, My work has really taken up all my time for the last 3 weeks, so at the 11th hour I would like to show my finished Dio.

It was a fun build and I congratulate the other contestants for some awesome builds and paint schemes !

That's awesome bud, I love that you opened the canopy. That couldn't have been an easy thing to get to stay.
Well done!

Cheers !

My first attempt with CA and holding it in position with my hands failed and it never bonded ..

Second attempt was more thought out, i lightly scuffed the paint and canopy for better adhesion, i then sat a popstick on top of the scratchbuilt ejector seat placed the canopy in position then over about 3 hours trickled in CA multiple times, i let it set overnight and the removed the popstick, hooray it stayed in the open position.

What i forgot to do before taking the final reveal photos was to buff off the CA vapor white staining, but thinking about it now it may have been a good move as i think i would have broken the glue again.

We live and learn :)

great build :th: the diorama is above and beyond!

I have just started using a kicker or hardener for superglue (decanted from a spray can) it makes the CA glue go rock solid instantly. no more trying to hold it steady for 5 mins
