Martin's "Mossie"...finally!

I finally got the time to upload some images of my completed Tamiya 1/48 "De Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI"...it's been a busy week with a wedding this last weekend.

Sorry for all the images, but I couldn't choose which ones to delete and which ones to leave?!

If anyone out there is interested in the "Mossie" this kit is a MUST! You will not be disappointed with the kit and / or the results. There are after-market enhancements such as resin engines and cowlings, etched brass and resin cockpit sets, etc etc for those that want to take it further than an O.O.B build.

I'm still having issues with Photobucket freezing on me, it's weird?

I have a similar problem, I can't copy the links immediately after uploading them, I have to shut Photobucket down then go back into it, then it works. Go figure.

I won't feel guilty....because you're going to absolutely love the kit and enjoy building her when you do, mate!

I'd build another in a heart beat, only next time, I'll buy the Ares Engines and cowlings, movable ailerons, flaps and rudder and the etched brass and resin cockpit extras to make her look even more realistic!

I'll be looking out for your build in the future....

Thanks for taking a look and complimenting, greatly appreciated!

Regarding Airbrushing the Camo: Did you watch the Video from the link I included in this thread prior to the photo links? Included in there is a breakdown of the build, showing how I primed, pre-shaded, masked using the paper mask provided within the kit for both the upper grey and the upper green colors. It also indicates how I didn't use colors straight from the bottle, I toned them down by mixing with flat white and for the upper green, I toned that down with flat white and threw in some yellow, too to get the shade that I was happy with.

After Airbrushing, I then gave the model a good gloss coat prior to adding decals and weathering. During the weathering, I mixed a wash that was a sandy / olive drab shade, this too is described in the video, and I then brushed this onto the upper green camo color to add more tone and effect. When that was dried, I rubbed off the excess to leave a subtle tone.
