Just a quick question and probably a stupid one when doing camo patterns on planes, tanks and the like do people follow the patterns as set in the instructions or do you use these as guidelines

Depends on the aircraft. Some had very rigid and strict rules as to camo(such as the RAF), others such as Luftwaffe mottling was applied individually by hand

It really is up to you and what you want it for. Competition I would stay with as much accuracy etc.. but a shelf job, well do whatever you want yourself it is for your fun after all.

That's a great way of going about it for me personally, since I'm still learning I always try for accuracy. That way if I ever decide to enter something I know what to do
