D-Day GB question

I know the D-Day GB is a few weeks away , but if I'm going to enter I need to get a kit soon(oh the horror

) So here's the nub of it. I don't want to paint invasion stripes, as they are so... 1944. What I'd like to do is make a model of a Luftwaffe aircraft from D-Day. Now from what I've read there were a couple of units who dared to mount sorties against the allies on June 6th 1994 (e.g Fw190's of JG/2)
Now my question is, do I have to find the decals and markings of these 2 units to enter or will the aircraft type suffice?

I thought so.. tried the usual places ebay, hannants etc. Anyone know where I can get a set of JG/2 FW190 decals for 1944..
Otherwise it's back to invasion stripes :p

does the same count for the subject i want to enter
i have the dragon maultier ambulance but the callout only says
east front and west front so that is not very clear on there part
or if i can find so photo's of one in use there
if this should prove too hard to find or is in violation with the rules that okay
i have another kit i want to enter and that has clear instructions about normandy vehicles
and a second ever tougher question
if one of the 2 is not allowed can i still combine the 2 builds in one diorama
sorry for the trouble
cheers Mark

A quick google image search of fw-190 jg2 shows that there were planes that only had generic German markings. Maybe you could make them up from spares?

Best I managed to find was the Tamiya 1:48 FW190, which seems to have markings from Feb 1943. Not seen anything from them for later though. So anything you've found to rescue me from the black and white would be great
Guess I could always try my first tank build, at least they didn't have stripes

Great question - a timely one too as I need to find a suitable kit. Lee, when will the entry criteria be posted? Will it be subjects based on the 6th June only or will it be the period from D-Day to the breakout from Normandy? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere

no offence meant, sorry.
Anyway, I thought you two were one and the same in a Jekyll and Hyde sort of deal as you are never seen together at the same time - explain that if you can!
If you know the answer, pretty-please, can I have it?
