alclad cleanup

Post by atheosx »

what are people using for cleanup when using alclads?

worth trying to get a bottle of their airbrush cleaner? or is there a better/equal option. ive got there primers/black base and some colors now to work with but i dont wanna start till ive got some tips on cleanup. i only have the one airbrush and i dont want to purchase a second one so a good cleanup before going back to something else is what will be needed.

thx

Alclad airbrush cleaner is just Laquer thinners in their tin / bottle. It is cheaper to go out and get it from the local DIY /Hardware store or look on ebay. You can get a larger container for almost the same price.

that was my guess. im sure its changed up a little and might be that .0001 percent better but its all relative. to the hardware store :thumb2:

Also, check if your airbrush has Teflon seals as rubber ones tend to swell up and split if used too much with Lacquer based paints and cleaners.

Remember to FLUSH your A/B properly after you clean it... to remove all traces of Lacquer Thinner !

The last thing you want is to contaminate your other paints afterwards and experience clogging if your normal paints are not Enamel based !

Take care brother !
