Great detail from the new mould

The interior is very good, pity it will be mostly hidden
Should be a good build

Looks like a well detailed kit, iv got the new italeri kit ( it's a rebox of the esci kit ) and the inside has no detail at all, even the control surfaces are just flat with no decals even.
Good luck with the build

As a dc-3 guy I was wondering about this one.

Goes together so well, just watch the wing roots are aligned properly

Work on the engines

Looks good so far, didn't know the C-47 could carry 1/32 missiles

The are fire streak missiles for a 1/48 Javelin

would love to see a Dakota in an all out air to air attack

Glazing in and cargo doors fixed
Masked ready for some colour

Looking fabulous.....I really want this kit!

Decided to start the painting with the invasion stripe background
I'll leave for 24 hours then mask for the main colours

New to the site and just having a poke around. This looks a hell of a lot better than the Airfix kits I remember when I was modelling 15+ years ago. Nice looking job also.

Quick question - do you not prime before paint?

Generally I don't prime, IMO it sometimes removes the fine details
But I find with the modern acrylic paints I use no real problems
Yes this is a new tooling from Airfix, and very good it is too

This wook look superb on an airfield base about to tow a horsa glider into the sky !

Masked the white ready for the spray booth

Almost at the last hurdle.....looking great so far, can't wait to see this one finished now!

Finally got around to painting the underside

Used Hu127 as I didn't have any 128, but so close it makes no difference

C47 Painted the upper surfaces and the d day stripes and 1st coat of clear
Added the under carriage

This aircraft is in my top 5 favorites, your doing an amazing job! I have the old Monogram 1/48 kit in my stash. I am sure it's nowhere near the quality of this kit though.

Bit more tonight, painted the leading edges and green camouflages
Painted the wheels and propeller

The C47 I've been doing the decals tonight
Lots of stencils, the main decals went on quite well, the biggest pain was the port J8 which had a lump to go over, lots of microsol and set used
I think the hu clear might have misted in the humidity but just on the wing tips

But looking pretty good I think
