An Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.C I/72

I recently went out of town. My wife, daughter and one of her friends, went for four days. After the days events I knew I would be stuck in a room with three women gabbing about things that I knew nothing, nor cared about. So a little planning I packed the 251, knife, glue, and paint in a small tool box and was ready to tune out the gossip and nonsense. I wanted to see how much I could get done with the limited time I would have.

So I started construction, with the vision problems I have this kit may have been a mistake, or I should have packed a magnifying glass. This little kit has as many parts that the 1/35 scale kits have, only microscopic. After struggling with the very small parts it was time to paint the interior.

After interior was painted and weathered I glued the two haves of the hull together.


The last night I finished gluing all the small parts and painted the base coat.


We got home and I have been feeling under the weather for the last few days and have not felt like doing anything. Back at the bench now with my magnifying lamp I can straighten up the details and finish this really nice LITTLE kit.

I have not been working on anything for the last few weeks I have had blood pressure problems, and the doctor has been changing my medicine and it left me feeling run down and not wanting to do anything. I am finally adjusted to the new medication and I am back to my old self. So it was time to get back to modeling. I had started this project as something to kill time. I masked my 251 with poster tac and sprayed the first camo color.


I used Ammo of Mig acrylic based on a review by Paul. I had never used any of the Ammo products before and was pleased with the way it sprayed. very little thinning and clean up was easy. I think I will invest in more of this paint as I use up my Tamiya and Model Master stock. I will let this dry a while and do a little painting tonight.

I did a little more work on the 251 diorama. I painted a ruin from Italeri using Vallejo, Ammo of Mig, and AK Interactive.


I also did a little placement testing on the base.
