Tamiya StugIII Ausf.B

Post by Ozzie21 »

As I can't finish anything as other crap gets in the way, not work this time, bloody children :wall: I thought I would sit down and try to finish some of the models I started a while ago starting with this Tamiya StugIII Ausf.B This is the kit with additional Aber PE set and barrel. I built it over a year ago but it's sat in a box. So with a new compressor for the airbrush, Sparmax TC-610H, I've been painting and trying some weathering though it hasn't had the effect I want. I'm going to try some washes and a pin wash but I have to wait till the odorless turps arrives.

Anyhoo some pictures. The model has no tracks as the paint is still drying and I have to burnish up the treads on the Fruil tracks I have used.

I still have to weather the exhaust cans but I need more practice as it looks like crap on the test subject.

I have the artists oil paints but no turps except for the smelly kind which I don't wish to use. I'll give it a coat of gloss and try the Ultimate washes on it and see if I can get a nice dusty 1940 look on it.
