...which is the best 1/35 scale kit? I generally build from the box, but wouldn't be averse to photo-etch or other metal parts - so long as they're included, that is. I have a birthday coming up in a few days and am trying to come up with suggestions. Price is an object, needs to be reasonable (under $50/€37/£29).

BTW, I tried to search for a similar thread but my search was rejected because the terms were "too common"

Coen, that looks like a fantastic kit! Definitely going on my list, whether for now or for later.

Any opinions on the Dragon Sd.Kfz.165 Hummel Smartkit? I know I started this about a Tiger but I've had me a hankering to build a bunch of SP and towed artillery/guns and TD's. I especially love the German units, just so...sexy, in a manly sort of way....

It fit his price limit range and it's better than some of the other kits.
