Hi guys and girls,

it has been a couple of months since I have had anything to post, work and life have been getting in the way...

But just last night I finished my first model since the Fw190 for the night fighter SIG. As it had been a while I chose a nice simple kit to get back in the groove, at least what I thought would be a nice simple kit. I cant complaint too much but being a relatively new tool from Airfix I thought it would live up to the others I have done such as the 1/72 spitfire and hurricane. but this kit has problems...ejector pin marks in the worst possible places. the worst being at the back of the cockpit and in the wheel wells. what is the point of putting lovely detailed wheel wells only to ruin it with huge pin marks? :wtf: the other major problem I found was sink marks on the body, top and bottom and on the wings most of them I filled, but I was expecting better. having said all that the kit build up nicely and the decals are superb. :thumb1:

For anyone interested the silver I used is citadel runefang steel mixed with Tamiya white to give it a more oxidized look. I found the citadel silver much better than tamiya xf16 and xf11 as the metallic particles are much smaller and look better at this scale.

Thanks for looking and as always all comments and questions welcomed :cheers2:

Thanks guys, it is nice to get back into it. I know it's only been a couple of months but feels like ages. Started an Italeri 1/72 Stuka today, done a ModelsRGo order and ordered a Tamiya 1/72 mosquito from my LHS. No stopping me now

Thats the spirit, get stuck in! :-) Very nice finish on the MiG. The great thing about this forum is that if your modelling mojo is low, you can come here and see builds like this that inspire you to get back to the bench. Thank you!

Good job on the Mig - a nice, neat build. Cockpit detail looks nice for such a small scale.
