Hi, this is the first model that I've started after about ten years of not building. Revell P-47D in 1:48 scale; It's not a bad kit though it does lack in details. It's an old mold that has raised details and lines. This has given me an opportunity to try out a bunch of techniques for the first time such as re-scribing panel lines, using the Trumpeter rivet tool and pre shading. I'm actually quite pleased with the pre-shading as it looked like a WTF technique when I first heard of it. The rivet tool is pretty awesome too, but it's hard to control and see where you're going with it honestly. It makes the panels look legit though.

Nice pre-shading and painting...looks like it will turn out real nice once completed!

Thanks! I've put the decals on, thankfully I didn't have any real issues. Micro Set and Micro Sol didn't seem to do anything to them, but I have an old bottle of Super Sol that worked Great! Is Super Sol still made?

Thanks! I really dig the pre-shading technique; I'm glad I learned of it when I watched Paul's videos.

Wow, the weathering completely changes the look of the plane. It went from fresh off the factory to battle weary. Great job man. If that's the first thing you built in 10 years, then I am looking forward to whatever comes next.

Thanks! this one was a lot of fun. Now I need to start a model that doesn't require re-scribing and/or 10 tons of filler.
