You could strip the paint off and start over again, if you don't want to cover her in a clear gloss coat and apply some winter weathering, muck and grime etc?
Soak her in "Simple Green" cleaner overnight.
Cheers

Thanks for the info...
Thats what im going to do then.....i was thinking doing fieldgray like an early war vehicle...do u know if it was common for the german army to whitewash these little vehicles or did they just leave them the basecolor....i have not found any pics of them in winter camo.....

so time for an update...i decided to start on the vignette base first....my goal here is make a scene that looks like heavy wet melting snow like in the spring when the snow starts melting
i began by using some leftover tile thinset white in color and i added a small hill and some logs and big rock to the back of the base. i put the road in the front
next i painted it using washes of browns grays and black.....a word of caution when using thinset it sucked up alot of paint
next i added some dead grass to the hill and bits of dead leaves....then i dry brushed the logs and rock...then coated the road with glossy varnish to make it look wet....the put some varnish in a small cup and mixed in some yellow brown paint to look like mud puddels and poured it into the ruts
next i built the figures and base coated them with some white paint
now on to the snow effects...i made the snow using a 50/50 mixture water and white glue then mixed in some baking soda till it was like a really thick milkshake....mmmmm milshakeeee

then added it to the base with a spoon
i also added some tall grass to the hill along with some footprints in the snow
well thats it for now next on to the kettenrad which will be getting a new paint job

Hello Art,
Sorry for not checking in sooner, I've been so wrapped up in my own building project, because the time left is getting shorter, that I haven't been checking in as often as I usually like to.
So, I take it you stripped the paint off and started over again. I love what your doing with the dio, it looks great so far! Will follow this until then end
Cheers
Martin

well repainted and weathered the kettrad....plz excuse the crappy photos its my cell phone will get some better pics when its all done....
primed it with black primer
they shot it with german grey
then gave it some weathering and painted the details...
need to add some mud to the running gear...put some stowage in the trailer ...make a tarp for the trailer ..and give the figures some rifles and i think that will be it
