Hello everybody!
Started a new build today!
Between some GB's and finishing the last bits and bobs on my competition models for the Scale Modelling Challenge this October, I needed another build to keep me busy
So I decided to start this nice model.
It's a big box with a lot of extra goodies! There's even a flexible vinyl driver figure included...
Here's sprue mountain:
And this is what I've got so far. The engine is in already and some more bits and bobs.
Im not paying to much attention to the engine and the compartment, for it will not or barley visable.
There is a Photo etch set on it's way from the US, mainly for the Pak 40 gun and the interior.
So a start is made!
Hope to see you next time!

How are you going to do the tracks? Put two links together and glue on the pad or do all the links at once (like magic tracks) and attach the pads afterwards?

Yeah but the tracks should make up for atleast 200 parts
Still the dragon sd.kfz.251 kits have lots of parts ,it doesn't even matter wich version
Have fun building this compact beast

Normally I replace the tracks for white metal tracks from Friul.
This kit has the Dragon magic track suplied, so giving then a try.
Glue the tracks together and make it a upper and lowe part so I can apply them a bit more easy.
if it turn out ti be a compleet disaster I can alway buy som friul tracks later.

If you are careful with them and don't glue them with tamiya extra thin you can make the tracks workable
I had that with my half tracks

Great looking kit. I love the mobility and firepower solution the Germans came up with. Looking forward to seeing you knock it out of the park.

I loved that too Russ.
WW2 was a mobility war, and some solutions were awesome.
I even saw A pic of a flak 88 mounted onto a captured T-34...
And off course they have a kit of that one too... Dragon I believe...

Big kit, lots of fun!
I spent the whole evening just putting the front suspension together... Lots of fiddly parts
But all workable

Nice looking kit dude,
however although in 1945 the Germans in battle group Kienast did put a 88mm flak on a T 34 the picture itself is a fake, it did happen but the picture is a fake. The original picture shows just a normal captured T 34.
Regardless I do look forward to the build, the Sdkfz 251/22 is one of those vehicles I have always wanted to model.
Good luck

Ok.. It's been two weeks after my last post.
Just back from a two week holiday, and I was eager to get back to modelling this kit again.
But when I was sitting at my bench and folding some Photo Etch, It just seems not going that smooth as I wanted to be.
Didn't get the PE stuck right, and could not get some parts to fit.
Arhhh! So Did a lot of thinking, and decided to quit this build for a while because I do not want to ruin this kit.
So it's going on the shelf for a while, and I'm fine with that. Don't care anymore.
So instead of building this tough kit, I'm going to build a small easy kit out of the box.
Hope to get my mojo back when building it.
Not even sure If i'm competing to the 6 wheels or more SIG either, we will see how it goes by then.
So far this announcement gentleman.

So stay tuned for a new update somewhere next weekend.

Thanks Mark! Still slow progress because I am getting tired of this model. But it already stood on the shelf of doom for a year, don't want to put it back there. I'm just taking my time with it. Also i don't feel the urge to sit at the bench at the moment. I began this hobby to relax and de stress, but sitting and working in the garden, enjoying the new home is my relaxation now. So less modelling, taking time and enjoying life right now!

Haha! Thanks Mark, Who knows, who can resist a tasty piece of polystyrene eh?
I like the full PE gun shield myself, tough to put it together though.
The folding angle had to be spot on. Otherwise it would not fit to the gun itself..
Thanks for paying a visit, much appreciated.
