Tamiya 1/48 RAF Mustang III

Need a bit of a filler build before the Vietnam GB so I started this the other day.

Looks a basic kit so should be a simple quick build.





After the out was primed, sprayed in interior green, the detail parts painted and a bit of dry brushing.

Next up a clear coat then some washes

Im building this right now Paul!

Just word of warning, make sure the radiator is secure when you put the halves together, mine came loose and is rattling around inside!

Also, the roundels on the upper wings need to be cut/pricked to get over the wing flapstrakes and a lot of Microsol to set.

Oh and the yellow tape on the wing leading edge decals were rubbish - they wouldnt conform at all for me. The decals are very thick all over...

Apart from that, its been a very quick, easy build and fun to experiment with - Im just about to finish the final weathering and put it all together.

Oh and I'd use a mask next time - did not have fun masking this little beastie, but i admit masking canopies (and making link tracks) are not my cup of tea!

Bit of a jump in progress on this

Fuselage all together, needing just a bit of mr surfacer, its a great fitting kit, next up will be canopy masked and then primer . I think it'll be a few days before i get around to any more on this though lol

Cool kit Paul! Looks to be another fall together kit by Tamiya! I'll follow this because I love the early razorback Mustangs, particuarly in RAF colours .
