Kubelwagen Type 82 DAK 1/35 Tamiya

Hi Folks,

My Kubelwagen Type 82 DAK is finished!
I had some sand/glue mixture left from another project. So I schmeared it out on a piece of kart board.
Than I thought: Well, let's use it for my almost finished Kubel. So now my Kubel stands in a tiny desert dio!
The Kubel came with 5 figures but I decided to use only 1. To give my dio a deserted feel.

If you have a chance to explain the process for masking the windshield

I have tried making masks with tape and a compass, but did not turn out great.

For masking I used the transparent sticker like material that is used for covering schoolbooks for protection.
In dutch it is called 'boeklon'. It is a kind of frisket-film, only stickier. If that is proper English..
I drew out the size of the window and the windshield wipers - clean areas on the boeklon, cut out the whole and the clean parts, stuck all of it on the window for positioning and than removed the window part and airbrushed the dust colour on it. Tahn removed the 'clean' part masks.

That's it.

Yes, absolutely. Although the Italeri one is a different type.
The details of the Tamiya one are much better.
Especially the roof of the Italeri version is very unconvincing.
And their figure is awful.

I love the Tamiya one. I think the thick tires look great.
And it has lots of figures too.
