Eduard 1/48 I-16 type 10 Profipack

Post by Opapapa »

Ok... "For the politburo"... or something like that.: I simply love the "Rata" or "Winged squirrel" as Finns called them. :th:

I wanted to build an I-16 with a scheme that reminds of those planes that was used by russians in Winter war 1939-40. Colorful red markings and writings like "Za Stalina" etc. This profipack kit had markings quite similar that they used back then. It's not likely that this particular plane was used in Winter war though.

This little kit was very nice to build. It seemed that the fuselage (dark grey plastic) was older molding and softer in details than the wings which were "normal" light brown and more detailed plastic that Eduard has today.

The kit was painted with Akan paints.

Thanks for looking! :)

Olli
