Global Scale Modeller

Looking for a mojo kickstart I came across this and thought I would give it a try. As I've never built a car, I thought it would be a nice change and take me out of my comfort zone and let me try a few things that should help the plane building.



Totally ignored the colour call out for the seats, I'm sorry but Red leather .





Just mucking around getting bits and bobs painted.







The body and the bonnet/hood have been primered and are currently waiting to get a bit of a sanding. Also removed the chrome and next weekend I should start using the Alclads on various bits.

Anyway hopefully I don't screw up and get a nice looking Mustang out of this.

I have this same kit sitting on my desk, just got it on Monday during a busy work week so haven't taken the plastic off yet.
I want to build it into my former 07 GT convertible that is in my avatar

Lol Welcome along 2kids, so far with the build everything seems fine, nothing difficult or badly fitting.

There is one problem I have read though, the kit doesn't quite sit like the real thing, that nose dipped agressive atitude.

I have read a build where they fixed the sit of the front but that in turn doesn't allow the bonnet/hood to close properly. Not sure exactly which way I will go on that yet.

I cracked my kit open, earlier than maybe I should, to test out the resin mags I got on E Bay.
Of course they are way small as the kit seem to be 19 or 20 " wheels and I will have to modify things.
Keep posting up your progress, very interesting build.
I miss that car as a convertible in nice weather, the sound of it's V8 and love the look of it.
BUT it was a pig on gas, handling was interesting and the quality of materials inside was low. Still, love the Mustangs

Scott, I think I know what you mean re the internal finish, I had a friend that had a Ford XR 8 (top of the line Ford) and the internal finish was the same as a typical Ford, nowhere near what you would expect considering the price paid for it.

Anyway more done.

Just ordered set of torque thrust mags and wheels for mine

Well calling it finished. I will have to find a better way to paint the trim in future. Still for a fun build and never having built a car before, it's a result I'm happy with.

Don't worry too much about the trim, on the real car it leaks like crazy...one of the reasons I no longer have her

I forgot I posted that pic of my kids, makes me howl with laughter every time I see it!

Mustang has a great engine, sound and style. The reality of living with it daily is another story.
I miss the car now, but my 335iBMW is faster, better handling and safer while carrying goalie equipment and passengers but lost in the crowd of clones
Mustang is an icon, and you can tell what it is from kilometres away and I love the looks/sound of them
