The Douglas AC-47 Spooky (also nicknamed "Puff, the Magic Dragon") was the first in a series of gunships developed by the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. More firepower than could be provided by light and medium ground-attack aircraft was thought to be needed in some situations when ground forces called for close air support.

I'll be doing this scheme as I'll be doing a SEA camo on my next entry. This Spooky is also one of the first gunships used in Vietnam too.
Stay tuned for my updates.

Thank you guys :cheers2: Ok so I've done some things tonight on the spooky. I painted the cockpit XF-54 as it is the most closest to the dark gull grey.

Once it's dried I masked up the area so I can apply the next colour dark green but I won't do it tonight as I'm getting sleepy....

I did cut up the pieces that I need to paint later too

This is book that I will using as reference for the spooky.

I manage to found a pic of the spooky that I'm building

That's all for today before that here's a photo of the messy table of mine hehe

Great choice and one I'm looking forward to seeing come together. That book is a great source of reference also. I've looked through it a few times but never got round to buying it.

Great choice and a unique bird. Not a huge amount known about them, at least out of enthusiast circles. I enjoy seeing some of these rarer planes.
