Hello there from Yorkshire

Post by countzero99uk »

HI there all,

Some years ago a friend of mine talked me into starting historical wargaming, mainly WW2. In which getting something on the table was far more important that how it looked, a good model is allways nice though. But the mindset is you should spend more time gaming with the models than putting them together.

However Ive allways found the build to be an enjoyable part of the process so with that in mind I was looking over various modellers you tube channels and decided that I should just pick up a 35th kit and give it a go.

Thanks to an eagle eyed friend who saw someone selling of some cheap kits on a forum I now have a nice mix of armour kits to go at.

Tamiyas
T34/76
Stug III B
Matilda MKII (I think)
M48 A3 Patton

and Trumpeteers Russia KV "Big" Turret

I didn't know ahead of time that a lot of the Tamiya hulls had holes in for motors and such so that was a bit of a surprise. My first build is going to be the T34/76 it looks like it should be a fun build.

My intention is to build the kit exactly as the instructions say and to try and get as clean a build as I can and once ive worked out the basics I can maybe look at filling the voids in a build later on.

Tools I have are side cutters, hobby knife, contacta professional glue, super glue, tweezers, needle files, wet and dry paper, some squadron sanding sticks, greenstuff and humbrol model filler.

Ill get some photos up soon of my progress :)

Thanks for reading and I look forward to being a part of the community.
