Global Scale Modeller

Hello Guys,

I'm just adding my Eduard 1/48 scale Airco DH-2 Bi-Plane into the Air gallery Section of the forum now that she is completed and entered into the World War One Centenary SiG.

I think I've commented already on that build but it looks the dogs gonads. I have that in my pile and if I can be half as good as that on my thirteenth build I will be well chuffed.

Aaaaaahhhhh ... what a beautiful model! Fantastic work mate ... she's a real eye candy !

Did you suss out the rigging from the artwork on the box or use an online resource? I've just had a look at mine and it doesn't give much detail, there's nothing on the instruction sheet. Also (sorry for all the questions!) did you complete the aircraft and then do the rigging as the very last thing?

Hey Thing,

I left the top wings off when I was doing the rigging, but before I did, I glued the struts in place with super-glue and aligned them by temporarily locating the upper wing. When the struts were set solid, I removed the upper wing, then used EZ-Line and super glue to do the rigging. Where possible, I used a continuous length of EZ-Line, going from one point to the next, super-gluing each contact point and letting that set solid, before I pulled the EZ-Line taut to the next point, then super-glued that, and so and so on.

I took reference from photos for the rigging locations and some from the box artwork.
