Global Scale Modeller

Hi guys, so as some of you know i attempted my first 1/35 build in July for Mike's (Coen C).. YouTube GB.
The Subject was Kursk and the build ran for the duration of the conflict July 5th to August 23rd...
Now i wont bore you with the entire build log, or post all 10 parts to the build, they are watchable on my channel from intro to final reveal if some of you wanna take a look, and i may link to the final reveal at the end of this collection of pictures...
Having never built a larger scale Kit, and not wanting to ruin a nice kit i chose this old cheaply purchased ( about £5+ postage ) kit by Mirage hobby.
I expected it to be rather rubbish and not very good but i was pleasantly surprised..
The kit contains the optional parts to convert for other versions of the T-26 Vickers 6 ton light tank..



I also bought this kit at the same time
....and have to say Forum member Alex, (APC227) has done an excellent job with his here..

Well done again buddy...
...and like i said i am gonna save my kit until i feel i can do it justice...

Anyways, i also grabbed my first 1/35 scale figures from Masterbox..



Kursk Russian Tank crew titled "Bail out!"... Which is exactly what they are gonna be doing..
I only use 3 figures as the rather small T-26 only just carried a crew of 3.. Its a tight fit in there!

So that was my kits purchased and stored ready to begin, and as i had imagined the kit to be naff, i had a Dio idea i had never done before! Again, first time 1/35 scale kit, Figures and Diorama! I must have been mad!!

.....But luckily i managed to pull off the desired effects and displayed my build proudly, even getting in on Coen's final reveal video to conclude the GB...

Very cool, especially like the driver climbing out.

Let me ask a general question for diarama builders, where do you all keep them? This one is not too big, but some I see are very large.

I plan to buy some large kits like the Famo with trailer, but it is 1m. Long, no idea where to display especially if I get several other large kits.

So it made me wonder where the heck y'all put the diaramas????

Hey, thanks for the kind comments Greg... Much appreciated.

As for the general question of storage, my builds stay on the shelves in my room etc... for about a year, then get boxed and stored in the loft space to make room for the next load..
Others have glass display cabinets in their caves or around their homes. Some hang them from their childrens ceilings, one forum member even builds and displays his at his local Tank museum where he volunteers.. Hi Geoff if your about...
So i should imagine maybe starting a thread in the modeling chat forum section would bring all the answers for you...
There is one for purchases, non modelling purchases, man caves and music, why not a built kit/diorama storage one??
