Started this weekend the Dragon Tiger
Day One
And some Fruilmetal Tracks
Then followed a full day of drill, pin, glue - repeat....... 96 times per side ( approx guess at required links )
At least that's over with.....
Day Two
First started with the chemical processing of the tracks - used Gun Blue - nasty stuff but works well, after degreasing the tracks.
Then adding all the torsion bars for the suspension, glued the ends with CA to lock the interior ends solidly.
Then made and tidied up all of the road wheels, idlers and drive sprockets
Then dry fitted the wheels, and sprockets and tested the tracks. Looks like the 96 links wasn't a bad guess, as the return idler is at the maximum tension set.

More done today - first started with the exhausts and rear plate.
Then the radiators and fans, and added into the main hull
Finally for the day, I fitted the main engine deck, and the glacis plate. Still a lot of bits to add to the deck.

Very nice. I have this kit planned out for a Wittmann 007 build either in January or some time next year. Looks very clean and neat so far.

This is a really sweet kit Peter. I've used it once or twice and was very happy with it.
Great choice.
Nice work on those Fruil too. Tedious but awesome. I really like those cooling fans though. Nice colours bud!

Today's work brought to you by Apoxie putty, a sheet of acrylic and acrylic rod, and Trumpeter Zimmerit tools.
Mix the putty, then roll with lots of talc to stop it sticking, then use some Tamiya extra thin on the plastic, and place the putty sheet. Press down, trim the edges then apply the pattern with the tools.
Not too tricky, but just takes ages.......
Just need to wait for the putty to cure overnight now.

Today's work - first added the other cable, along with the truly horrible PE hangers.
Then sprayed everything with Alclad Grey Primer
Including all of the wheels
Then sprayed everything with a basecoat of Ammo Dunkengelb Ausf 44.
Not had a problem with the Ammo paint, just add a couple of drops of thinner, and spray in light coats.

Excellent work!
Maybe you should build smaller vehicles. Maybe a Schimmwagen or Kettenrad.
Because of the cramped workspace you left yourself with..
Kidding, carry on!
cheers

Done some more today - first a green filter over the top
Then on with the decals, then a brown wash over the top. Slotted the wheels on to allow the wash on the wheels.
Need to let all of this dry.

Today's work - started with some chipping, very light at the moment, will probably add some more later.
Then started weathering the drive sprockets, chipping, grease wash and metal pigments.
Then started the first pass of pigments
Also added some red primer where the zimmerit has chipped off
Then working on the tracks with pigments - Earth and Rust pigments, then rubbed back with sandpaper
Made the internal wear marks with sandpaper as well.
This all needs to dry fully before continuing so that's it for this weekend.

Nearly finished now - a day of weathering and painting the tools. Finally fitting the tracks
Just needs the spare track links, and the radio antennae to finish.
