Raised rivets

Hi all, can raised rivets be replaced? Due to sanding I have lost quite a lot of raised rivets and was wondering if they could be replaced.

Never have done it, but have seen it done, use Evergreen octagon plastic rods cut to thickness

They make all different dimensions of that stuff

Thanks for the reply but these are minute, on 1/72 scale and there are loads. The lost detail is where fuselage halves come together and need sanding to get rid of the join. I would have thought it to have been a common problem.
I have seen a video where Paul shows (didn't actually use it) a tool with a wheel, which can be changed for various scales, to replace rivets, these would therefore be sunken. Surely others must lose raised detail.

Archer has some really nice decals with resin details like welds or rivets. The rivets come in a lot of differrent sizes and with a few different spacings. You just cut them off and apply like normal decals.

I just use white glue on a cocktail stick, make little drops where the rivet should be.
I also use this method for making nails on planking

There are peoples that SAND the rivets completely off on 1/72 models .... and go without...

some airplanes have a combo of stand off Rivets and flush rivets.... ?

Thanks for the replies, I now have a few very useful ideas. Although I would like to retain as much detail as possible I certainly like the idea of removing some surface details. I always thought modelers wanted to keep as much detail as possible.
One kit, an Airfix 1/72 Handley Page Hamden was very bad in regards of flashing and especially the fitting of parts, fuselage halves and wings to fuselage . It is along these joins where there has been the the heaviest loss due to poor fit, I will certainly be removing some detail on this one. I also have on the go three 1/72 Airfix Lancasters. Two Bl/lll, converted to Bll, before the Bll came out, and the other is the recent Bll.
A lot of one of the converted Bl/llll detail has been removed along the fuselage join, I'm not sure yet what I will be doing about this, I have not glued the fuselage halves together on the other Bl/lll conversion. It is the recent Airfix Bll which I want to keep as much detail as possible. As this is a new kit the quality is very good so I expect it to go together much better, we shall see.
