Buccaneer kits

Can anyone tell me what buccaneer kits are out there? Apart from the 1/72 airfix and CMK ones. I'd like something in 1/48 are bigger if poss, but I can only find the 1/72 stuff.

There is an old Airfix 1/48 kit but, it's meant to be a right pig....

I thought there might be something like that. I'm debating forking out on one of those CMK kits, but I don't know if I can justify the pricetag!

I believe there might be a resin kit out there somewhere, but I could be getting mistaken with the possibility that when I saw that it was a one off that somebody had scratchbuilt themselves.

Can't remember if I am honest, I think it was over on Britmodeller, someone was scratchbuilding a large scale Bucc, using actual formers etc, then covered it in sheet aluminium, or tin or something. Was actually a cracking build!

Some internet research would seem that Trumpeter are possibly doing a 1/32 Bucanneer and Jaguar!






Although I notice that the forum thread I got those pics from is dated 2010, and I haven't seen a Trumpeter 1/32 Bucc or Jag yet, so I assume it either came to nothing, or is still in development.

Yeah I doubt they will, seems to be a good bit of online chat about them, and all these prototype shots (which seem to be 1/48 prototypes, which I assume then just get scaled up) but nothing about any final kit. As I said, all the forum chatter about them was back in 2010, and nothing since.

Shame, Bucc is one of my favourite RAF planes, shame there isn't a better variety of kits out there, the 1/72 Bucc by Airfix isn't that great apparently, and I am not sure how easy the 1/48 one is to get a hold of these days. Although there is a lot of AM stuff for them, so with some patience and a bit of cash splashing you can get a good model in the end.

Wow ... look at the detail on those kits!!

Both of those planes were awesome, I went to RAF Lossiemouth a few times when I was a lad in the ATC and we used to get to see them up close there.

Hope these kits see the light of day at some point ...

I remember building one of the Airfix 1/72 Buccaneers in about 1983 and it was a total swine to build.

I just bought the Airfix 1\48 Bucc and from the sprues it looks a decent kit

After reading the above I hope to God it builds ok

But hey I wouldn't be modelling if it wasn't a pig!!!!!

The story's I've seen say its a nightmare Lenny but builds up to a cracking model think I did it when I was a kid it was hard work but a lot of fun.
