One of a number of projects I have on the go at the moment and may finish one day when I can paint a figure
I've added Fruilmodel T-66 type tracks.
The stowage set is a massive pile of resin which will be a major painting job on its own.
Also I need better lighting for picture taking, something I will add to the to buy list.

Ozzie,
I am trying this method on the figures, not finished yet, but years ago I used a similar system from Verlinden, but can't seem to find it online. So I thought I would try this.

I recently did a few with just acrylics and that stuff is tough to use for figs, so I am back to oils. Before going on a twenty year break, I was beginning to get the figs looking pretty good with oil.
Good luck

Looks good Charles! After watching Fury, I have Shermans on the brain and will get one or three soon.
And yeah, figures scare the crap out of me too - just had another look at the 1/16 Tamiya ones I bought to go with my HB Tiger, might start them soon...
Thanks for that link gb64!

Ozzie.
Ok so far what I learned and will try next time.
Too many layers, too thick, spray on don't brush and reduce layers.
Don't prime face, spray flesh acrylic, spray Future, brush wash on and it has to really get into the eye sockets, ears and mouth. The first time I did it, I had not realized what it was for. But the wash is the lips, eyes and ears.
Liqutex gloss varnish is weak compared to future and eroded to the mineral spirits and the primer and base coat was removed.
Ok so ready for the eyes. A pin was too big, a needle may work but I don't have one, so I used a super small piece of copper wire.
When the author says a spec, that is correct, not a dot, but a spec so small you barley, see it. This took several tries and many are still goofy eyed.
Also, add a lot more red then you think to the white. If it is too white it looks silly.
So I did about forty eyes yesterday, remind me not to du the Panzer Grenadiers, Russian Assault troops and many tankers at the same time.
So that is where I am, today I will try placing the cornea in, a black/brown mix.

GB thanks for the extra tips. Not sure if I'll ever get the eyes right. Just have to leave a whole day free to try this method out.

Not so much busy as trying to finish something. You should see what else is on the go at the moment.
