Assembly of the vamp, lovely model from Airfix
Used liquid gravity in the nose

Looks very nice, and 'scuse my ignorance what is liquid gravity?

Liquid gravity is like a bottle of very fine metal shot which is poured into tail sitters to bring the center of gravity forward to make the model sit properly. You can secure it with PVA glue (wood glue) so it doesn't rattle about. If you do use it, whatever you do, DON'T use contact adhesive to secure it, otherwise all your canopies will fog.

I used superglue and packed it with putty
The Canopy was coated inside and out with clear before attaching to the fuselage
Good tip on the fogging though, must admit I hadn't given it a thought

the paint ... hmmm - started with Humbrol acrylic 11 (pretty poor coverage even after a 2nd coat)
then remembered i'd got some Revell Silver - so a top coat of the Revell Aqua and i'm pretty pleased with the result
all with a hairy stick cos i couldn't be bothered to go in the garage and set up the spray booth for such a small kit

The Boom-design seems much better on this kit than on my Special-Hobby one. The boom is the only thing thats really bad on the special hobby version

I haven't personally seen any pictures of Vamps in this colour scheme so I can't really advise you on the brightness but I think it looks great!

Another fab job Graham! I was at Hendon last Sunday before flying back t the USA on Monday and took photos of a Vampire they had in there, but it didn't have the nice bright orange details that really set your model off, it was silver all over.
