Well this is my first build back into modeling For a long time So be gentle with me.



My first attempt at useing VALLEJO Primer failed so switched to Black


Main body together finaly manged to sort the Primern out.and used plastic putty WOW brilliant bit of kit.

putting together Engine priming then hand painting.

OK guys before i Start i have Managed to sort out the Uploading of Pic's So they no Longer Block Out the Sun.

Damm marks on the Wings - I do not know what there called but there a bloody night mare - Before sanding and Rescribing


After :- looking a lot better

After priming - now the colours for the Upper Wings and under and main body. Took a while to get the Colour's i wanted as had
a Limited Paint Selection to choose from ATM.


Still have to redo the edges of the Wings. Masked a little to much Wing.



took a Couple of coats to get the Colour and shade i wanted. A little heavey on the Spraying But sitill Learning with my Airbrush

those are ejector pin marks. ejectors are like little spring loaded pistons that push the part out of the mold. when they show that bad, it's either lousy tool design or poor tool making. no excuse on a surface like that.

I haven't tried it myself, but I seem to remember someone on ISM filling them with CA glue and then they only require a light sanding?!!??

So Outside the cockpit Area Masked and primed with a light tan colour prepared for Wood Effect.



So used 2 different colours to create the wood Effect. (little bit of work need for the corner caught that before glossing)

Now did the same thing again for the PROP the pics does show it lot better.

And completed with gloss and finshed painting. I must say learned new technique and very proud of it.

So now Airplane together painted Decaled. still a little touching up to do , Washing and still need to get hold of some EZ line for the
Rigging (Thats goeing to be a all day job (and Steady hands ))

Good luck with the rigging....takes some patience, but to your advantage, this is a big model with space between the upper and lower wings to get your fingers between. I built a small 1/48 scale Eduard Airco DH-2 this year, which I believe has the most rigging out of all the bi-planes. It was my first time building a bi-plane, using EZ-Line and attempting rigging, but once you get into the swing of it, you stop fearing it and it begins to flow.

What a fantastic job!
Now I want to watch Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines...haven't seen that in ages!
It is the Canadian coming out of me, but is your display base a hockey puck with a mirror ???

Thanks Twokidsnosleep and no LOL its not a puck Unless someone sells 7" Pucks with mirrors that i don't know about
