So while I'm waiting for the New Years GBs to start, Ive been getting myself in a tizz about what to build to pass the time. I've got a few kits that are too big to be time fillers, others that need AM decals, and a few new techniques I want to try but don't have suitable kits!
So I'm going to start this tiny ww1 kit I picked up as a WW1 GB back up, but never got round to starting.
I really like the paint job, and fancy a go at rigging a biplane. Not looking forward to the build much though, looks like an old airfix 'kit in a bag' job! Lol!
Wish me luck!!!

Done a bit of work on this.
There's no cockpit to speak of, so I made a seat and instrument panel out of paper. More to fill the hole than anything!
Little bit of filler required.
Those hinges look a bit over sized, and don't like the look of that tail skid.
So, off with them!
New skid, made from scrap PE.
Added a brass cross member on the undercarriage, the kit one was really badly moulded.
I also cut off the MG barrels and replaced with brass tube. Hard to get the phone to focus, but they are a big improvement, honest!!
That's all for now, see you next time!
Cheers guys

Some clever replacements there Cheif! I'll have to try the whole brass barrel thing!

Brilliant work, but can you see the tail skid now? I love working on camo patterns, but the bright colours on this look great! I really think there should be a GB for kits that cost less than a fiver. Looking forward to your next build.
