Painting tank tracks. Varnish before washes?

Hi guys.

So I primed and sprayed with base colour my Panther's tracks.

My question is, do I need to seal the base colour with Varnish before applying washes?
If yes, will it affect how well I will be able to lay tracks on wheels? And will they remain flexible?

Hey Yev,
If they are workable tracks it would make no difference unless you sprayed a huge amount of varnish... I Mean ridiculous amounts. So you're good there.
If they're fixed tracks it doesn't matter as they're fixed

Myself I don't bother with varnishes on tracks. I prime them (all acrylics) paint them with a base colour, rust them with a wash (oil), then I shine the high points with a darkish gunmetal paint or and HB pencil, then I add the pigments and dirt.
