Klear "dislike"

Post by Pierce »

I tried Klear to see if it was any better then a clear coat. I sprayed my canopy with it and it pooled on the bottom edges and was just to runny. I'm sure if I want to spray it over the entire model. I think I might go back to a gloss coat then a Matt coat as the final coat to seal the decals and weathering. Or unless I did something wrong. I did not thin the Klear spray it straight through the airbrush. Do I go light coat let it dry then build the coats.

Don't spray the canopy's, dip them in the Klear and put them on to some paper towel to "wick" the excess Klear off. This method alway's work,s for me and prevent,s fogging when you mask the canopy.

Sorry to ask a basic question but when you say dip, do you literally mean you fill a container with enough undiluted Klear to immerse the canopy (or other clear part), dip it in and then place it somewhere where the "drips" or runs will fall down, hopefully giving a clear thin coating ?

I`m guessing 24 hours to fully dry then you can leave it until it needs glueing.

Also does this mean I don't have to use PVA or UV-PVA to glue it ? or will superglue etc still fog it up ?

I`ve never done it before and just want to be explicitly sure before I try. Its not the first time i`ve buggered up a clear part

Thanks in advance for any guidance :thumb2: :thumb2:
