Trumpeter 1/16th Scale SU-100

Post by NorthernSwede »

Hey fellow modellers.

Been awhile since I posted a build thread on this forum : but after a little push i´m hoping this is the start on a good restart.

I started this build awhile ago on hangouts and stuff so the starting pics are missing but since its such a large scale I havent got far

Anyway on to some build pics before you guys get to bored.

So lets begin with a box shot of the kit...And those cutting mats are A2 size :eeek:

Image

Drivers chair and some of the large amount of shells thats going into the fighting compartment of this tank. 43 shells to be precise.

Image

2 Pics of the engine. I´m gonna add some more details to it such as fuel lines. Put a pot of a Mr hobby paint bottle as size comparison.

Image

Image

Pic of the wheel and I put a wheel from a Leopard 2 A5 next to it

Image

So lets show some pics from the tank itself and what I have been able to do so far.I´m not far from having to start priming and detail paint the interior on this.

Image

Image

Image

Engine compartment. A few pin marks that needs attention but no biggie as the dividing plate isnt glued yet.

Image

And finally just a pic to show the tank next to a 1/35th Dragon King Tiger. And the barrel under that.

Image

I´ll update you guys on this build as soon as I have done anything to it.

Enjoy guys and happy modelling.

definitely following this build!

Debating whether or not to get the T-34 to go alongside my 1/16 Tiger - the quality of the Trumpeter kits looks amazing!

Now bring out a Panther and Sherman!!!

Oh my !!!
It was fine up until I saw that interior. Sweet crap Stefan... that's 100% awesome. A hell of a thing to paint though. She'll be a material hog, that's for sure. Better stock up on paint. :)
She's amazing kit bud. Thanks for posting this. Truly inspiring.

That is one sharp kit! Your build looks great so far! That thing should really show off weathering and detail painting well.

Ok guys time for a little update on this one.

It is basically ready for primer and paint on the interior of the tank. On to some pics.

Image

Image

Fighting compartmen...there is alot of shells going in there so there is still lots of brackets etc missing that cant be added until all the ammo is added.

Image

Engine room doesnt have much there right now but it will be very full when the engine, gearbox and the radiators are added in there.

Following pics will show the engine and the gearbox

Image

Image

Image

Next pics will show whats left to add to the fighting compartment, shells, ammo racks and seats.

Image

Image

Image

That was it for this update. I´ll post pictures later on when the painting starts but for now its time to start the 6 wheel or more GB so putting this on hold for a little.

Thanks for reading and watching guys.

Holy crow!
Stefan that is a hell of a thing buddy. A real material hog too. The interior alone will soak up a tonne of paint.
