NOOB ?: What is the differance between cement and glue?

Hiya eveyrbody

as the title suggest my question is simple. What is the differance between glue and cement? I currently have several different brands of glues and cement. My gluing experience is mainly with the citadel extra thin superglue and thin plastic glue, I recently also got some Mr. Hobby CementS but so far I have not used it to any great effect. Perhaps it is the way I apply the cement that has made it unsussesful on my part?

That is indeed the question? so far as I can tell they are the same but when I try to follow builds and such, it seems there are specific used that people use for different things or are these just personal preferances

I think it's personnal preferences.

Two (in fact three) golden rules:

For plastic you use pastic glue or cement in fact cement =glue as for example Tamiya Extra thin, Revell Contacta, Testors glue, humbrol cement....

For resin you use c/a glue which is stronger but (and that's where you have to be careful)it's an instant glue so when you press your two parts they re stuck instantly (or almost instantly 'cause when you use gel cyano it allows you a little bit of manoeuvre.

For photoetch you use either cyano or pva or some of us use simply klear or varnish.

Yeah Paul's explination was very clear, so I gather I can use the cement to also loosen part that had been previously cemented together.

But then I have another question and that is can I use the cement to also loosen parts that have been either superglued or plastic glued together?

Yeah you can unglue parts cemented using the plastic cement, it wont work with superglued parts though

I have tried Zap's CA debonder but it never really seemed to do the job.
Deluxe Materials' Glue Buster however is great stuff, used it a few times to get CA off. It's pretty hard to get though...

I am afraid my patience or lack there of got the better of me and the cockpit has now been inserted without removing the seats in the end What can I say, it is my first model and I can't wait until a lay down the primer on this baby :-D
