Right decals done just need to put a couple of klear coats on tomorrow then it's getting pack away till I get back of our holidays.



Than it will be on with the weathering
And just to whet your appetite this is what I'm aim at or something similar.

As you can see the ground grew would clamber all over the aircraft so the would be scratches, scuffs and what have you all over the wings.



This a typhoon but you get the gist the invasion stripes would be painted with whatever was about at the time one of my grandad's friends that I talked to years ago was ground crew he said that they used normally house paint for them and it would not last long especially as some times the aircraft could sometimes fly upto 6 sorties aday for weeks during the invasion and they would not get time to reapply the paint so it would get quite worn at the leading edges



Hear you can see the marks on the wing



Again a typhoon but you can see the black marks all over the bottom behind the chin and the casing ejection holes.



And again around the canopy think this might be a spitfire but the tempest would get the same sort of wear.



Well like I said just a taste I'm just going to go for it and see how it goes

Will do Coen it's free the wife's dads friends has a lodge in skipsea (east Yorkshire near Bridlington) so just need food and booze lol.
Wappy can't go wrong with one of the new tool airfix the typhoon or zero 1:72 not my scale but I've heard they are very good and pocket money price if you know what I mean.

Back to it fellas the wash on I use pastel dust and water with some washing up liquid for the wash.



Now to beat it up a bit just dry brushing with the camo colours if you remember the pictures from earlier in the thread you will remember all the air crew clambering all over the winds and all the wear and tear the paint job would have got with flying so often in a short space of time that's what I'm trying to do (he says hopefully).





Ill let that dry then it's the underneath which won't be as bad then into chipping and what have you

All that's left is to put varnish on then some powders for the exhausts and guns then that will be it I think.
