Blenheim Mk.1 1/72

Post by Opapapa »

Hi all!
This is an Airfix kit with some PE and resin parts (seat belts, landing lights, spinners...) from a little bit older Special Hobby kit. The Airfix kit was surprisingly good. I had some issues with the canopy though, but I think that that was not the kits fault... The decals are from Gal decals. I tried to make a license built Finnish Blenheim (Series 2). Around 55 Blenheim's (Mk. I and Mk. IV) were built by Valtion Lentokonetehdas (States Aircraft factory) and 42 were bought from UK. I've read that even Great Britain's war declaration in 1941 didn't stop Finns paying "royalties" to Bristol company! :D

Here's a nice picture from 1944.

Nice work Olli! :thumb2: :thumb2:
Looks like a nice kit from Airfix, maybe have to get the Mark IV version sometimes with the Gal decals, I know Kuivalainen sells a lot of them.

Hieno Blennu! ;)

Thank you my friends!

Sebastian, beware of the cockpit gaps with Mk IV also!!!: Menin tässä vähän mettään ohjaamon kanssa ja jäi kauheet raot. Straight translation in English: I went to the forest with the canopy and I left huge gaps... Means: I ******* up the canopy  But... We learn from every kit we build!!!
