Academy 1/35 Panzer IV - #13233

Post by Canulus »

So here it goes. I popped my airbrush cherry (is that even a thing?), and i got myself a cheap tank to work with and the result was as follows:

A 50/50 muddy and rusted Panzer IV. I decided to go for the ambush camo because it is one of my favourite camos from that era, and the skill level combined with some tutorial was actually not that hard ... I also got some 502 oil and turpentine and started learning streaking effects which turned out ok. (and yes there are some bits and bobbles missing but i will get to that later :thumb2: )

Thank you :) Think i painted the tank three times before i finally settled on the ambush camo ... First layer was just schwarzgrau, then a mix of dunkelgelb, schokobraun and medium green (where the splatter of the brush destroyed most of the lines) and finally i noticed the technique using blue tac which resulted in the ambush camo.

And yes ... Those skirts are giving me nightmares :

Very nice! Camo looks great. Nazi tanks wear skirts...what a bunch of sissies. :P

The skirts was probably designed by Hugo Boss and made to keep everything "in style"

I know some of the struggles of this kit as I have built a couple of them but you really did an awesome job. Nice camo as well.
