So here's tonight's progress.

Got the wheels together, ready for sanding.

Image

Then got the hull and turret assembled. Nice kit so far, no fit issues. Fingers crossed for the tracks!

That's it for tonight. Really enjoyed doing this. It's been a while since I did any armour, so it's been nice just slapping bits on without cockpits and engines to get in the way, lol! :th:

Thanks for looking fellas :cheers2:

Hi guys :th: thanks for the kind comments :cheers2:

A bit more progress on this tonight.

I added a few extras from the spares bin, just to add some interest!

Made some cam poles from stretched sprue.

Image

Then added some PE straps.

Image

And mounted them on some PE brackets

Image

Added some personal kit.

Image

And a slave lead.

Image

A bit more personal kit!

Image

Some water cans, and fishing line for don 10 on the cable reel.

Image

And finally (phew!), some ammo boxes.

Image

I think that should suffice for now. Got a few more essentials to add, if I can fabricate them!

Thanks for looking fellas, cheers :cheers2:

Quick update! Just tested the tracks. About 10mm too short, as suspected! :pistols: had to order some friul tracks from eBay, £25, which is what I paid for the kit. Effing joke, not happy :bash:

Nice choice , looking great all the litlle details that you are adding to the tank !

Though luck with those tracks ...how that can be possible ... the brands should be more careful . But good option mate to have the friul tracks , will look much better in the detail !

:th:

:cheers2:
Cheers ,
António

Hi guys :th: thanks for the comments :cheers2:

Not much more done on this.

Replaced the kit mud flaps with flattened drinks can.

Image

Much thinner than the kit part!

I also made tow ropes from copper braid. Couldn't get my phone to focus though, lol!

Image

Then primed in dark green, this should aid in chipping/worn effects for the desert paint that will follow.

Image

So that's it for now. I don't really want to do any more until the friul tracks arrive, so things are on hold for now.

I'm sure the tracks will look great, but I hate being forced to use them because the manufacturer has effed up! If this was from a British company I'd be kicking off, but as its AFV Club, I'd be wasting my time. :pistols: :wall:

Anyway, rant over, :violin: I'm off to find something else to do while I wait for the postman, lol!

Thanks for looking guys, much appreciated :cheers2:

Hi guys! A couple of hours progress on this, but not much to show for it! Got both sets of tracks drilled out.

Image

Ready for a clean up and I also ordered a bottle of Ultimate's finest vintage burnishing fluid. looking forward to getting these put together, I'm a Friul virgin, lol! :th:

Looking good so far Chief. I like the additional stowage etc. always brings a vehicle to life I reckon. I have always been tempted to build the Scimitar, fancied doing it in the older green/sand BATUS colours to go alongside my Chally 2 and AS90. This would of course then mean I had to get a Warrior as well!

Cheers Gav! I'm of the same thinking but in a desert scenario, got a scorpion, and a 43, need a warrior, Chally and a Samaritan would be nice! :th:

Shame there are no plastic 432 kits that I know of. Think the only ones really available are the full resin jobbies from Accurate Armour, and they ain't cheap.
