What color to use?

Post by NovYank »

I am currently working on an AAV-7, and I've recently finished the base exterior green color (now on to the 3-tone NATO scheme :bash: :eeek: ).

Now that that's done, I am trying to figure out how to do the interior color. I don't know what color, if there is a specific color, to use. That or could I just spray it with a white then do a green wash.

Here is a pic of the interior of the AAV-7.

Doesn't look entirely far off Vallejo Model Air Duck Egg Green (009).

As for what colour it is, I am not sure.

Hello There!

I'm not very familiar with modern vehicles, but I saw this interior problem somewere on the internet.
Got some pics of it. Maybe it helps? By the looks of it the colour is a very light green...

I did an M113 years ago, possibly a Tamiya and as far as I can remember it was indicated in that to use Duck Egg Green for the interior.
There can be only one!

Does anyone recommend just a white base coat, then maybe a green wash?

I'm no expert but I would probably do a base coat of the duck egg green darkened slightly with black and then do a wash really light wash of white mixed with a little bit of green, should give a nice pre shaded/highlighted look.

I wouldn't use white with a green wash, it won't give a proper "colour", but rather it would shade white with green. Find a Duck Egg Green and get a solid colour coat.

That would be my recommendation.
