Back to the future a bit late

I was kinda hoping to have it finished in time for the anniversary but life got in the way a little bit but it's not that far away hopefully a week or so but hey ho, i didn't start out with any of this in mind it just sort of evolved
Originally I was just going to build a delorean car I picked up on fleabay cheap as its only a polar lights version, then suddenly I had a good (at the time) idea lets put it on a base of some sort and before you know it BAM a great big thing has took over, anyway back to the car assembly was pretty straight forward not many parts very basic so after it was put together and painted grey I spruced it up a little (forgot to take pics must try harder to remember) added some small wires and some spare decals,

Once the tub was done and in the shell which came made out of some dark ish silver plastic so I used it to my advantage and just used a very course sanding stick (Ultimate of course) and in one direction just stroked it to simulate the real finish then sealed it in future/pledge or what ever you want to call it,then painted all the black bits front window,front and rear bumpers,mirrors and bottom sill on both sides



Then came all the other bits to go on front thing on not sure wot it actually is,
I also added some extra wires down to the sill


did the same in the rear



Then it was on to the rear engine bay/boot/trunk as you can see it was lacking a little bit


So I put some extra bits and bobs in there to make it look a little better




Then I painted the floor black and attached the wheels


Then started to whether it to look like it's done 88 mph a few oils were used but mainly Ultimate in various mixes wet and dry (makes really good dust and other stuff when dried out and crushed back up)


As I said not a hard build some pics of the finished car








Then I made a start on the base first get picture frame from charity shop needed to be a big one painted it black (don't know why) then thought of another idea make the big sign that Marty hides the delorean behind so out with some lollipop sticks and ca 15 mins and POOF a bill board found the picture out of the film off the tinternet printed it off and seems to work a treat, fixed the legs of the sign with some two part glue for strength then some compost and white glue/pva mixed and applied to make a road

then base painted



then made some grass out of an old brush



along with some other bits of bush type material and scatter came out not to bad I also added a fence with some barbed wire

still working on the ground work lots to do still

Small update time
Had to think of something to make the lights with on top of the sign but came up with this


a simple wall plug with the end cut off stuck down to a lollipop stick then milliput rolled in to thin worms to form a lip around the edge





Didn't turn out that bad might not quite be to scale but
Still working on the ground work would be further along but got to wait for mister post man (cue song..... you all sang it well them that's old enough to remember )and I have a feeling that some of the things im waiting for may be coming from the land of the rising sun also made a start on the road which after talking to Paul the other night needs some road markings and I checked the picture that I'm using for reference you can just make them out so that's next while I wait for the post to arrive

Teeny tiny update
pushed the boat out the other day and spent 4 quid on some grass tufts off fleabay got to say they was excellent got to get some more but will go direct next time check em out at warpainter.net really good quality



so I used about half of them to add some more depth it's starting to come together now still waiting for the trees to arrive so had to move on to the road again to put some white road markings tried a few times to get it right size wise and settled on theses ones they seemed to look the best probably not the right scale but they look better than all the others I tried just starting to do the whethering on the road
